Terrafirma guard Jerrick Ahanmisi’s star shone brightly after capturing the Obstacle Challenge for guards, before crowning himself the new Three-Point king in the side events of the 2026 PBA All-Star Weekend Friday night at the Candon Arena in Ilocos Sur.

Ahanmisi demonstrated his agility and quickness by overcoming the obstacle courses and knocking down shots, clocking 24.94 seconds to beat five other contenders in the final round.

The sweet-shooting Ahanmisi, Magnolia’s first round selection in the 2020 PBA draft, beat Blackwater rookie Dalph Panopio (26.97), TNT gunner Rey Nambatac (27.94), Converge rookie Juan Gomez de Liano (35.83), Titan’s Fran Yu (37.52) and San Miguel’s Juami Tiongson (50.7).

The 28-year-old Filipino-American then continued his stellar performance by defeating San Miguel Beer’s Marcio Lassiter for the Three-Point shootout crown.

Ahanmisi put on a hot-shooting performance that included knocking down the two money balls from the four-point arc, on the way to registering 30 points in the final round to outlast Lassiter, the PBA’s all-time three-point scoring leader.

Lassiter went on to finish with 25 points while De Liano wound up with 18.

“I'm so proud of myself because I work hard every single day and I put my best out every day in practice and in the games. So God's just blessed me today,” said Ahanmisi.

Meanwhile, Meralco’s Brandon Bates kicked off the opening event of the PBA All-Star festivities by reigning supreme in the Obstacle Course Big Man edition.

The stocky Bates clocked 22.86 seconds to overcome NLEX’s Brandon Ramirez (27.26) and Magnolia’s James Laput (45.69) in the finale.

The two side events champions pocketed P30,000 each.
