Aimee Lou Wood praised by fans for SNL hosting debut following joke controversy

Aimee Lou Wood made her SNL UK hosting debut, one year after the US sketch series made fun of her appearance in parody skit.

Last April, shortly after season three of The White Lotus was released, SNL US cast member Sarah Sherman wore fake teeth as she imitated Woods’ character in skit of the popular HBO series.

The actor called out the show as “mean” and “unfunny” following the skit. She later revealed that HBO and Sherman had apologised to her.

On Saturday (2 May), the 32-year-old hosted the variety show, featuring in skits about Doctor Who, Super Mario and Made in Chelsea.

Fans heaped praise on her appearance, calling her “refreshing” and “phenomenal”, with some dubbing her episode the best of the series yet.
