Kota Kinabalu: AirAsia's direct flight from Kota Kinabalu to Bangkok will commence in July, said Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Jafry Ariffin.
He welcomed AirAsia's expansion of its domestic and international network by opening direct routes to Sabah, according to a statement.
Jafry was also optimistic the new network will draw in more tourists and reinvigorate tourism.
The minister was speaking during a meeting with AirAsia CEO Riad Asmat in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.
