Maldini was axed by Milan owner Gerry Cardinale last week.
And he could jump straight back into football with a post in Saudi Arabia.
Alkass reports Al Ahly have held talks with Maldini about their sporting director's position.
Al Ahy have also held talks with Roma coach Jose Mourinho in recent days.
