KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 9 — Alam Maritim Resources Bhd group managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Azmi Ahmad will be charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court tomorrow.

Based on a check of the court system, Azmi will be charged at Criminal Sessions Court 14 before Judge Suzana Hussin at 9am.

On August 17, Alam Maritim Resources Bhd, in a filing with Bursa Malaysia, said that Azmi had been remanded to assist in an investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

On August 15, Bernama reported that MACC had detained seven individuals comprising a CEO, a company director, a former company director and four former senior management officers of Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) to assist in investigations into issues raised in the Royal Commission of Inquiry Report on Tabung Haji.

According to a source, a shipping company CEO in his 60s with the title Datuk was detained for allegedly submitting documents containing false material details when making payments to TH, involving the falsification of contract documents of a petroleum company for the benefit of his own company. — Bernama
