Liverpool hero John Aldridge insists manager Jurgen Klopp can be happy with their market work.

Referring to Moises Caicedo, Aldridge insists they've spent better on their midfield than rivals Chelsea.

He wrote in the Sunday World: "I haven't seen enough of Wataru Endo, Liverpool's third midfield signing from Stuttgart, to make a judgement on whether he can do the holding midfield role, but that is still an area they need to strengthen.

"The experienced Endo feels like a stop-gap signing after they failed to get Caicedo and I hope the board backs Klopp with the finances needed to get another No.6 into the club because you can't rely on the Japanese star to do that job all season without any back-up.

"Rebuilding the midfield was never going to be easy or cheap and Caicedo and his agent added to the problem with their desperation to cash their chips in at Chelsea, but Klopp is emerging as a winner in this transfer madness after landing Szoboszlai and Mac Allister.

"When you consider Liverpool got those two top-class midfielders for a lot less than Chelsea paid Caicedo and his agents, I know what deals I would prefer to put my name to."
