MANILA, Philippines — Filipino tennis ace Alex Eala will face Polish Magdalena French at the WTA 1000 Italian Open first round likely set on Tuesday or Wednesday.
It’s a rather favorable Monday draw for world No. 42 Eala who takes on No. 32 Frech.
If Eala beats Frech, she will face first-round bye receiver Xinyu Wang in the second round for a rematch.
Wang beat Eala at the ASB Classics semifinal, 5-7, 7-5, 6-4, last January.
