MANILA, Philippines — Asked which NBA or WNBA player she compares or likens herself to, Filipino tennis ace Alex Eala picked Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark.
"Let me preface by saying that I don't think I know enough about the NBA or WNBA," said Eala in an interview with Overtime.
"But I would be remiss not to choose Caitlin Clark. She's amazing. I think she's insane. Hey Caitlin! I'm Alex, nice to meet you."
Like Eala in Philippine tennis where she recorded many firsts, Clark is a history-maker herself in the WNBA.
A Rookie of the Year and a 3-time All-Star, Clark posted the single-game assist record with 19 in 2024 while also becoming the first rookie to record a triple-double.
Just a few days ago, Clark also became the fastest player in WNBA history to record 1,700 points, 400 rebounds, and 700 assists.
Eala sports a WTA 500 Mubadala D.C. title, while Clark owns a 2025 Commissioner's Cup (WNBA mid-season tournament) title.
