MANILA, Philippines — After her "Sunshine Swing" campaign, Filipino tennis ace Alex Eala will next compete at the Linz Open slated from April 6 to 12 in Austria to begin her clay season.

This will be Eala's first participation in the WTA 500 competition.

Some household names in the draw include Emma Raducanu, Clara Tauson, Jelena Ostapenko, and defending champion Ekaterina Alexandrova.

World No. 29 Eala looks to bounce back after a round of 16 exit at the Miami Open, losing to No. 14 Karolina Muchova of Czech Republic, 0-6, 2-6, Tuesday midnight.

Eala gained 120 ranking points only in the tourney, losing 270 as she failed to match her dream semifinal finish last year that earned her 390.

The 20-year-old is expected to drop in the 45th to 50th ranking range once the official rankings update next week.
