Alex Fitzpatrick has seen his life change in just a few months.

At the start of this season, he was playing on the DP World Tour, looking for his first win and hoping to secure his PGA Tour card. Not only has he already achieved both of those goals, but he did it emphatically.

He won on one of the most difficult golf courses in the world in India to claim his first DP World Tour win. Then Fitzpatrick won the Zurich Classic alongside his brother, earning his PGA Tour card.

And once Fitzpatrick got to the PGA Tour, he immediately made waves, fighting for a Truist Championship victory at Quail Hollow with the likes of Rickie Fowler.

He’s relishing the opportunity to play on the PGA Tour and at major championships alongside his brother, Matt Fitzpatrick, but he said that their dynamic has changed since he arrived on the tour.

Alex Fitzpatrick says how the dynamic between him and Matt has changed

Alex Fitzpatrick has become accustomed to being Matt’s brother, who also plays golf, but that has changed in the past few months. The 27-year-old has established himself as a talented player in his own right, and he’s noticed the difference in the way people talk to him.

Speaking on Dan on Golf, Fitzpatrick was asked by Dan Rapaport if his relationship with Matt feels different now. He responded, “Yeah, it’s certainly weird.

“We were talking to a couple of people who came up to us and said hello and stuff, and it was like, ‘Oh, what are you guys playing in next?’ And it was like, ‘Hey, we’re both playing in Memorial and Canada and US Open and Travelers.’

“It was like that was kind of weird, but yeah, it was fun. I mean, for me, you know, being able to practice with one of the best players in the world, most weeks, is pretty crazy.

“Obviously, I’m lucky it’s my brother, but like being able to, you know, compete and have these games against him more regularly is, you know, I feel like it’s only going to be beneficial for both of us.”

He has a distinct advantage, being able to pick the brain of one of the highest-ranked players in the world, and if he keeps up this level of performance, it won’t be long until Alex joins Matt near the top of the Official World Golf Rankings.
