ALEX Eala’s campaign at the WTA 1000 National Bank Open ended in a 4-6, 0-6 loss to Belinda Bencic in the fourth round in Toronto on Monday, but she will finally get some time to rest after playing nine matches in 13 days bridging her Washington conquest.
Up next for the Filipino tennis ace will be another 1000-tier competition at the Cincinnati Open which will run from August 13 to 23.
But before that, Eala said she will get a little rest and a haircut.
“I definitely will take maybe two days off, a day or two. I do have to travel to Cincinnati. I need to get a haircut. I haven’t gotten a haircut in a while. My nails are grown out,” said Eala in the post-match presser.
“So, yeah, I’ll do a couple things, just to get my mind off tennis. I think Toronto’s a great place to do that.”
Eala said she will try to enjoy her time off the court as much as she can especially after the injury scare in her third-round match against Caty McNally in the second set, where she tweaked her right ankle.
“Yeah, I will reunite maybe with some friends in Cincinnati, and just try to have fun,” said Eala.
“I’ll be back on court (snaps fingers) like that, so I got to enjoy what I have. I got to enjoy the time that I have that I’m not on court.”
