Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson says they can never be counted out after a stunning win at Newcastle today.

Darwin Nunez jumped from the bench to score twice in the final minutes to overturn a 1-0 deficit and win the game 2-1. The Reds managed the victory after captain Virgil van Dijk was sent off midway through the first-half.

Alisson later said: "You cannot underestimate Liverpool, even in a game like that. When we played them last season they had a man sent off and it was still very hard to play against 10 men.

"When you play as a unit you can do so many things on the pitch. You can make it smaller, slow the play down. We always believed we were going to have chances. We always believed that we were capable of doing something here tonight and we did. A game for history, one of a kind."

On recording a personal record number of saves in the game, he added: "It was that many really? I am here for these moments, this is part of football and my job. I am there for the team and they are there to help me prevent the opponent from having chances.

"Today was about passion and believing to the end. After the performance against Bournemouth where we played over 30 minutes without Maca [Mac Allister] we showed what we can do with 10 men. We have to take this forward now, focus in every moment and be at that high level, and do it with 11 players.

"There has been so much talk around our team and how we are not happy with the transfer window, please do not put words in our mouths. We are happy, we are together and showed it today."
