
ALL 25 nomination centres for the 17th Sabah State Election (PRN17) officially closed at 10am today, following a one-hour window that began at 9am.
The announcement was made by the respective Returning Officers at each centre.
With the conclusion of the nomination process, the 14-day campaign period has now officially commenced, running until 11.59pm on 28 November, as stipulated by the Election Commission of Malaysia (SPR).
Bernama’s survey at several centres observed supporters attending in traditional attire representing their respective communities.
The atmosphere at the centres was reported as calm and orderly, with no incidents of provocation, under tight supervision by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) assisted by the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (Rela).
The SPR has scheduled early voting for 25 November, with polling day set for 29 November. A total of 1,784,843 eligible voters will participate, comprising 1,760,417 ordinary voters, 11,697 military personnel and their spouses, and 12,729 police personnel and their spouses. - November 15, 2025
