MANILA, Philippines — The six Filipino seafarers of Liberia-flagged oil tanker M/V Al Bahyah arrived in Manila on Monday, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said.
In a statement, the DMW said representatives of the department and OWWA welcomed and assisted then upon arrival. They were provided financial aid.
The Manila International Airport Authority medical team "conducted an initial medical assessment and provided assistance to the returning seafarers," the DMW said. Then, it added, they were received by representatives of BSM Crew Service Centre Philippines Inc., their manning agency.
The DMW said the tanker, which had six Filipinos among its crew, "was reportedly involved in a security incident while transiting the Strait of Hormuz." Five were unharmed while one had a minor injury, the department said.
