CALVIN Abueva’s debut with his new team Converge highlights the opening of the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup against foreign guest squad Macau Black Bears on March 11, 2026 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Malate, Manila.

The FiberXers take on the Black Bears in the second game at 7:30 p.m.

The opening game at 5:15 p.m. will have Abueva’s former team Titan Ultra facing Terrafirma.

The FiberXers acquired the services of the energetic Abueva in exchange for Rey Surety, King Caralipio and rookie Mark Omega.

For the Commissioner’s Cup, Converge will be reinforced by seven-foot defensive whiz Kylor Kelly.

The 28-year-old Kelly brings with him a solid reputation as a lockdown defender, who earned NBA G League All-Defensive team citation in 2024 while playing for the South Bay Lakers, and leading the league in blocked shots that season with 2.9 swats per contest.

The power-playing Kelly is expected to form a deadly front court triumvirate with Justin Araña and Justine Baltazar.

On opening day, Kelly will be battling Macau’s 7-foot-6 Maltese import Sam Deguara.

The beefy Deguara will serve as one of the Black Bears’ imports, along with Tony Mitchell.

Meanwhile, NBA veteran Bol Bol will make his keenly-anticipated PBA debut on March 20 when TNT takes on Rain or Shine in the 5 p.m. curtain raiser at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Barangay Ginebra, then plays in the main game at 7:30 p.m. as it battles the Macau Black Bears.

Barangay Ginebra and long-time rival Magnolia will face off on April 10 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

San Miguel, the reigning Philippine Cup champion, and TNT will clash for the first time this conference on March 28 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
