A viral video recently showed a foreign man using the ubiquitous blue LRT tokens for his dental needs while onboard an LRT train.
Needless to say, the clip left netizens feeling sickened by his lack of hygiene and called for stern action to be taken.
Picked his teeth with token
In the clip, it showed the foreigner clad in a white shirt and wearing a kopiah seemingly chewing on an LRT token.
When the camera zoomed in on him, it showed that he was actually using the token as a toothpick to get rid of whatever residue that was stuck in between his teeth.

In the caption, the OP called for cashless payment to be implemented for all LRT and MRT rides lest anyone is unfortunate enough to land their hands on said token.
It didn’t take long for the post to be flooded with angry comments from netizens who were repulsed by the foreigner’s actions, with one even urging for public transport to be made available for Malaysians only.

Another showed a photo of a badly damaged LRT token and wondered if they were the “lucky” ones in getting the token used by the foreigner.

RapidKL responds
In the comment section, RapidKL said that the clip was an old video that was reshared by affiliate account bots to shore up engagement and likes.
However, it added it has taken note of the matter and will continue to ensure that the comfort of passengers remains its top priority.

Just last week, another foreigner sparked outrage after he was caught urinating while using the escalator:
