All India Council of Mayors president and Karnal Mayor Renu Bala Gupta said a two-day conference of the executive body of All India Council of Mayors will be held at holy city Rishikesh in Uttarakhand.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will inaugurate the meeting. The civic administration and Rishikesh Municipal Corporation have completed all preparations for the meeting, which will bring together mayors from across the country to discuss key issues related to urban development and municipal governance.

Gupta expressed confidence that the conference would prove to be a milestone in urban development. She emphasised that municipal corporations must continue to move forward with a strong commitment to public service and citizen welfare.

Around 60 mayors representing cities from different states are expected to participate in the conference. Mayor Gupta will share Karnal’s successful experiences in implementing Smart City initiatives, cleanliness drives and innovative urban management practices, providing a roadmap for other cities to adopt similar models.

“The conference will feature three major technical sessions focusing on Smart City projects, environmental conservation, sanitation and the financial challenges faced by urban local bodies. Discussions will also explore ways to strengthen the self-reliance of municipal corporations and improve service delivery to citizens,” she added.

Participants will also attend the grand Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat, one of the most spiritual attractions in Uttarakhand, she added. The valedictory session of the conference will be attended by Member of Parliament Trivendra Singh Rawat and Cabinet Minister Pradeep Batra, Karnal Mayor added.
