KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 31 — Floods in Kedah and Negeri Sembilan have fully subsided, with all three temporary relief centres (PPS) in the two states closed today, while the number of evacuees in Perak has declined.

In Kedah, the last relief centre in Pendang, Dewan Pejabat Penghulu Mukim Bukit Raya, which had been open since last Wednesday, was closed at 10am, allowing all nine evacuees from two families to return home after the floodwaters receded completely.

In Negeri Sembilan, two relief centres in Kuala Pilah, Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Undang Johol and Dewan Orang Ramai Dangi, which housed 87 evacuees from 35 families, were also closed at 4pm today following improved weather and the complete recession of floodwaters.

In Perak, the flood situation has also improved, with the number of evacuees at SK Titi Serong relief centre in Kerian declining to 25 from nine families, compared with 34 people from 12 families this morning.

The Perak State Disaster Management Committee secretariat said in a statement that all evacuees from Taman Aman Sejahtera and Taman Desa Aman 1 had been housed at the centre since Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) forecast rain tonight in Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim. — Bernama
