The trailer confirmed that the series will be dropping sometime this Christmas, and fans have been hit with a wave of nostalgia after watching it. The trailer is just about two minutes long, but it does give us our first glimpse into this new Wizarding World, along with some interesting things. Here are some of the things you may have missed in the Harry Potter TV series teaser trailer.

Harry Potter TV series teaser trailer: Things you may have missed
Vernon Dursley

The trailer opens with a glimpse of Daniel Rigby as Harry’s uncle, Vernon Dursley. He’s reading the newspaper in silence while, seemingly at the same time, his wife, Petunia (Bel Powley), is busy cutting Harry’s (Dominic McLaughlin) hair haphazardly, and just making his life a living hell in general.
The Green Eyes

Though the films are beloved, one of the biggest criticisms was that Harry didn’t have green eyes, which was a defining feature of the character in the books. The TV series rectifies this, with the trailer offering a lingering shot of Harry’s green hues before panning up to his signature lightning scar.
The “new” Platform 9¾

While still at King’s Cross, it seems that the pillar that students have to run into to get to Platform 9¾ has been relocated—that is, if Harry is indeed running into the pillar in the shot in the trailer.
Ginny Weasley

We see Harry look out of the window of the Hogwarts Express, watching Ron (Alastair Stout) hug his mum, Molly (Katherine Parkinson). At the same time, you can also spot Ron’s sister and Harry’s future beau, Ginny (Gracie Cochrane), in the reflection on the window.
Garrick Ollivander

Fans may have already clocked it, but in case you didn’t or you forgot, the bespectacled old man telling Harry “We can expect great things from you”, is Garrick Ollivander, perhaps the most famous wandmaker in the Wizarding World. We also get a glimpse of Harry’s wand.
The Gryffindor Common Room

There’s a rotating shot that shows students lounging on sofas and gathering around tables, which we’re betting is the Gryffindor Common Room.
Malfoy’s goons

The internet has hailed Lox Pratt’s Draco Malfoy as serving aura, and it seems like his goons are no different. We see the Slytherin gang show off their wands in the trailer. While Crabbe and Goyle (Finn Stephens and William Nash) are well-known thanks to the movies, we also see Pansy Parkinson (Laila Barwick), who’s also part of Malfoy’s entourage in the books, and now it seems in the TV series.
The Herbology greenhouse and Professor Sprout

The trailer gives us a good look at another part of Hogwarts: the Herbology greenhouse, the place where students will have to face the infamous screaming mandrakes (though that isn’t until the second book). Also at the greenhouse is Hogwarts’ resident Herbology professor, Pomona Sprout, who’s played by Sirine Saba.
Neville Longbottom and Parvati Patil

The next shot shows Hermione, played by Arabella Stanton, in the greenhouse clad in her Herbology garb. Right beside her is the forgetful but loyal Neville Longbottom, played by Rory Wilmot, along with fellow Gryffindor Parvati Patil, played by Alessia Leoni.
The Astronomy Tower?

There’s a shot in the trailer of a tower with a winding staircase and a star on the floor. We can’t confirm it, but we won’t be surprised if this was the Astronomy Tower, the location of a, uh, pivotal event way later in the story.
Giant marshmallow

Harry and Ron are eating a giant marshmallow in the Common Room, undoubtedly done with the help of Hermione. Just wanted to point that out.
Dumbledore with a tuning fork

We have no idea what Dumbledore is doing with a tuning fork. The books do mention that he has a bunch of silver tools in his office, so this is undoubtedly one of them. We won’t be surprised if it has a special use like the Deluminator. Actually, we also won’t be surprised if it’s just a plain old tuning fork.
