Taylor Swift has been a showgirl and a pop-rock phenomenon since her second album, Fearless (2008), generated 7.2 million in sales. But it is the last three years that have nailed down her name as presumably the most successful artist of our generation.
With over 109 billion streams on Spotify, eight albums that have reached Billboard No. 1, and more than 2 billion in concert ticket sales, Swift is riding on her own coattails to push her career to stratospheric heights. Mentioning every record smashed by Taylor Swift in her 20-year career (she has over 100 Guinness World Records) would probably take us an eon, so we have listed all the times she broke the internet in 2025 and inscribed her name on a “history books page” with a “permanent marker.”

Taylor Swift reclaims her Masters
In 2020, when Taylor Swift and the entire world first heard of the artist losing ownership of over a decade’s worth of music, it sparked a flood of questions. Swift took to her social media platforms to share the road she would be taking ahead — that of “re-recording my older music,” as mentioned in one of the letters released by her on November 17, 2020.

Around that time, Kanye West, Swift’s longtime celebrity rival, expressed his support saying, “IM GOING TO PERSONALLY SEE TO IT THAT TAYLOR SWIFT GET HER MASTERS BACK.” Now, we are not aware how much of a help Kanye was, but in May 2025, Taylor re-purchased all her first six albums that were previously owned by the investment firm, Shamrock Capital.
According to sources, the singer spent an amount close to USD 360 million and she “had no power in my legs to control myself” when her mother, Andrea Swift, first called to tell her that the company agreed to sell all her music back following months of back-and-forth discussion with the company.
When Taylor Swift shared the news of regaining her master recordings with the caption “You belong with me” on Instagram, the entire internet erupted in celebration, especially the Swifties. This was a momentous occasion for a singer who had recently brought down the curtain on a world tour that broke 18 records during its 21-month run.
Taylor Swift appears on Jason and Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast
Taylor Swift’s one and only podcast now holds a world record. Hosted by freshly minted fiancé Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce, the 124-minute episode from August 13 drew 1.3 million viewers who streamed the podcast concurrently. During the conversation, Swift gave an up close and personal look into her life, her hobbies, finally owning her Master recordings, her record-smashing The Eras Tour, and most importantly, her new album The Life of a Showgirl — a record that, according to NFL superstar, Travis Kelce, is “going to make you dance.” The explosive and upbeat tracks will be a “180” departure from Swift’s 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department.
The feat prompted Guinness World Records to call Swift a “record-breaking machine.” The episode currently has over 22 million views and 712k likes. This adds to the 100+ Guinness World Records Swift already has in possession. The singer is officially a “Guinness World Records ICON,” according to the organisation.
New album announcement — The Life of a Showgirl
In between the mayhem of The Eras Tour, Taylor Swift carved out time to compose a new album, The Life of a Showgirl. The album, set to release on October 3, 2025, is “about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during (The Eras Tour), which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant.” Hence, the dominating colour orange.
Promotional pictures shared by the American singer show her in bold, daring looks never before seen in other eras. With 12 tracks in the listing, the album will feature the return of Max Martin and Shellback as co-producers for what is sure to be a masterpiece. The two also worked with her on her award-winning album Reputation. Additionally, Swift has also tapped a close friend, Sabrina Carpenter, for the title song.
As it goes with Taylor, not a single track is out, but the new album has already broken a record. According to Spotify, it has become the most pre-saved album in the streaming giant’s history. Obviously, it was one of the many times Taylor Swift broke the internet, given that the school session was on for all Swifties who got to decode easter eggs from as far back as the 2022 Midnights era.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce get engaged
What’s more headline-making than a brand new Taylor Swift album, you ask? A fairytale proposal for a girl who has written over 50 gut-wrenching songs about heartbreak. In true Swift fashion, she was bound to break a record here as well. The post about the engagement announcement reached spot 9 on the list of most-liked posts on Instagram, surpassing football greats and a pregnancy announcement from newly-engaged couple Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez. The post has over 36 million likes, 2.7 million reposts, and 10 million shares.
Apart from the engagement itself, Kelce’s attention to detail while popping the question to his girlfriend, who has weathered at least 12 heartbreaks, sent the fandom into overdrive. The Kansas Chief tight-end built a garden of 2000 blooms, mainly roses, peonies, hydrangeas, and delphinium — an artistic nod to her song lyrics “I hate it here so I will go to secret gardens in my mind.” Kelce built that secret garden for her. Her vintage-inspired engagement ring was the cherry on the cake. The old mine cushion cut sparkler is very different from that of the raft of celebrities who are engaged at the same time as Swift. It is a giant stone nonetheless.
The design was curated by Travis Kelce himself, along with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry, based in New York.
Although we know Swift would have married Kelce with a “paper ring,” the latter made sure the proposal went down as an internet-breaking moment in history.
