Almost 1,000 forced out of homes due to floods nationwide

SHAH ALAM - The number of flood victims nationwide has now increased to almost 1,000 in Selangor, Johor and Kelantan.

The National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) said in statement that Selangor recorded the highest number of victims, with 695 so far needing to be evacuated.

To date, a total of 163 families in Klang are placed in three temporary evacuation centres namely Al-Falah Kampung Budiman mosque, SK Johan Setia and SK Sungai Binjai.

In Kelantan, 44 victims from 10 families are currently placed in two evacuation centres, namely SK Tok Deh, Pasir Mas and SK Kelewek, Tanah Merah.

Meanwhile in Segamat, Johor the victims are now at 57 from 18 families and are currently placed in three centres at Kampung Batu Badak Community Hall, Kampung Kuala Paya Community Hall and Tasek Community Hall.
