Kota Kinabalu: Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) named Ustaz Mohd Julpikar Ab Mijan as its candidate for the Sulabayan state seat in Semporna.
The announcement was made during the Amanah Sabah Convention 2025, officiated by party President Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, here, on Sunday.
In his opening address, Mohamad Sabu called on the party’s entire Sabah machinery to begin election work immediately, emphasising the need for organised mobilisation ahead of the approaching polls.
He said the coming state election demands serious commitment and strategic planning at all levels to ensure Amanah breaks through Sabah’s political landscape and secures its first seat in the State.
“This Sabah election requires dedication and coordinated efforts from every level. Amanah must work hard to win our maiden seat,” he said.
He reminded members to uphold their struggle based on values, integrity and moral courage, rather than merely chasing political victory.
He said true success is measured not just by votes, but by public confidence in the party’s honesty and steadfastness.
He is confident that through teamwork and sincere commitment, Amanah can win the hearts of Sabahans and bring their voices to the State Legislative Assembly.
Mohd Julpikar Ab Mijan is an educator, social activist and community leader from Semporna who is active in education and community development.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law (Shariah and Law) from UIN Suska Riau, Indonesia and has extensive experience in educational administration, religious outreach and non-governmental organisation work.
His recognitions include Semporna District Maulidur Rasul Personality 2021 and Semporna District Ma’al Hijrah Personality 2023.
An active education and community entrepreneur, he is regarded as a promising young figure capable of bringing value-based politics and community development to the State level.
