Finance Minister II Amir Hamzah Azizan says he has not decided on contesting the next general election, preferring to serve as a technocrat

BALIK PULAU: Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan says he has not decided on contesting the next general election.

He stated his intention is to continue serving the country as a technocrat.

“I have the opportunity to contribute through my duties as Finance Minister II,” he said when asked about the possibility of contesting.

He made these remarks after the MADANI Adopted Village Walkabout Session at Kampung Pulau Betong.

Amir Hamzah said his reputation was built as a professional in economics and finance.

He was sworn in as a senator effective December 12, 2023, with his term running until December 2026.
