Danish said if Muda has no intention of forming the government independently, it should tell voters which party it intends to work with to establish the next state administration.

JOHOR BAHRU – Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) has questioned the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance's (Muda) political direction after the Johor state election, given that the party is contesting only four of the 56 state seats.

AMK information chief Danish Hairudin said voters have the right to know Muda's actual political stance before polling day, rather than after the election results are announced.

He said the question arose because Muda had unveiled various manifesto proposals, including abolishing appointed state assemblymen, despite not contesting enough seats to form the state government.

"Muda is contesting only four seats. Mathematically and politically, Muda has no path to govern Johor on its own. This is not about perception but about the numbers," he said in a statement on Sunday.

Danish said if Muda has no intention of forming the government independently, it should tell voters which party it intends to work with to establish the next state administration.

"Will it be with Pakatan Harapan (PH)? Perikatan Nasional (PN)? Or Barisan Nasional (BN)?

"Are voters expected to cast their ballots first, only for Muda to decide later who it wants to hand that mandate to?" he asked.

He said Muda has yet to answer those questions, even though voters deserve to know whether the party's manifesto can realistically be implemented.

He said the public should not be presented with attractive manifesto promises without a clear explanation of the political realities that will determine whether those pledges can actually be fulfilled.

Danish also claimed that Muda president Amira Aisya Abd Aziz had previously acknowledged that the party lacked the numbers to form a government and that its manifesto merely served as policy proposals for whichever coalition eventually takes power.

"If that is the case, voters have the right to know in advance which government Muda is referring to," he said.

Meanwhile, Danish noted that Johor's political landscape has taken on a different dynamic after Pas deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man openly instructed party members and supporters to back BN candidates in seats not contested by PN.

He said the directive demonstrated that electoral cooperation could take place based on political strategy.

"That makes the question to Muda even more important. If Muda chooses to cooperate with PN after the election, is it also prepared to accept the fact that Pas is instructing its supporters to help BN candidates win in several seats?

"If not PN, will Muda choose BN? And if not BN either, will Muda eventually return to PH?" he asked.
