In compliance with the directions received from the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, a special help desk has been established at the District Administrative Complex in view of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Rupinderjit Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General)-cum-Additional District Election Officer, Amritsar, said the desk has been set up with the primary objective of facilitating easy access to election-related services during the SIR process and ensuring maximum participation of all eligible citizens, especially differently-abled persons, migrant voters and senior citizens in the electoral process.
Through this help desk, several important services and facilities will be provided to voters. Citizens visiting the help desk will receive complete information regarding the SIR timeline, along with the required documents for new voter registration, correction or deletion of entries. Assistance will also be provided to voters in searching and linking records with the last final SIR electoral roll of 2003.
Rupinderjit Singh said the help desk staff will also assist voters in filling and submitting Enumeration Forms through both online and offline modes. He added that special assistance will be extended to migrant voters in identifying their present and previous Assembly constituencies so that their registration can be ensured at the correct location. Citizens will also be made aware of the Voter Helpline Number 1950 and the features of the all-inclusive mobile application ECINet, especially the “Book a Call with BLO” facility.
