Ancient sites across Greece to be free to visit for one night only

  • More than 120 archaeological sites, museums, and monuments across Greece will offer free admission under the full moon on 28 August.
  • The Greek Ministry of Culture is hosting the annual cultural celebration for its 27th consecutive year, with 61 sites featuring special performances and guided tours.
  • Highlights include the Acropolis Museum extending its opening hours until midnight, alongside musical performances at ancient sites like Abdera and the Odeon of Agrippa.
  • Additional related events will take place across various Greek historical venues from 26 to 30 August.
  • Separately, Athens's historic white-marble Panathenaic Stadium is currently undergoing its first thorough cleaning in more than a century.
