The striker has been in the first-team squad due to the bans for Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres and made his debut in the Copa del Rey win at Ceuta last week.
The Blaugrana had a recovery day to recharge their batteries after victory over Getafe and prepare for Wednesday's Copa del Rey duel against Real Sociedad.
Barca coach Xavi will recover Lewandowski and Torres for the tie, but they are still suspended forleague games.
Alarcon is expected to be involved in the Copa clash this week.
