Another record temperature has been recorded in Germany, this time in the south-east state of Saxony, where a provisional temperature of 41.5 degrees Celsius was measured on Sunday, the German weather service (DWD) said.

It came a day after the last heat record was recorded.

The record holder since Sunday afternoon is now Bad Muskau in the Upper Lusatia region, the DWD said in response to an enquiry. Only on Saturday a new record for the state was measured in Klitzschen near Torgau at 40.3 degrees.
