ANOTHER member of the Captain Praba Gang was brought back to Malaysia on Saturday.

Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail said the man, aged in his 30s, was brought back from Thailand at 10.30pm.

“We brought back another member of the Captain Praba Gang at 10.30pm.

“Today, we will take the man to court for a remand application,” he told a press conference after the Community Policing Programme in Batu Caves.

Mohd Khalid said that so far, the police have arrested 17 individuals who are members of the criminal group.

"We are also cooperating with the Thai and Indian authorities, and they will contact us to take appropriate action.

"We are still tracking 15 more individuals suspected of having links to the criminal group," he said.

Recently, it was reported that the police were intensifying efforts to track down the remnants of the Captain Praba Gang who were spotted fleeing abroad.

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department Director Datuk M. Kumar reportedly said that police believed the suspects, including the group leader, left the country.

Police are now tracking members of the Captain Praba Gang through Op Jack Sparrow after they are believed to have used India and Thailand as hideouts since September last year.

Three members of the group were arrested in Mumbai, India last Sunday after a failed attempt to enter the United Kingdom, and were charged at the Sepang Sessions Court upon arrival in the country last Wednesday. – February 1, 2026
