Kota Kinabalu: Sarawakian Anson Yeo Boon Xiang and local lass Jamie Tan Huan Ying emerged champions in the 35th SGCC (Sabah Golf and Country Club) Amateur Open which ended on Sunday.

Anson representing Samarahan Country Club, Sarawak captured the men’s gross title with a three-day total of 221, winning by one shot over recent KGC Amateur Open winner Akbar Said (222) and in third place was Aiden Tai John Roberts with 228.

AdvertisementJamie from SGCC on the other hand, carded 235 and had a comfortable win in the women’s gross category. In second place was Siti Nur Husna Aina (243) and Ngo Yi Belle (245) in third.

In the nett event, the men’s title was won by Noah Elhard Esfahan (136) followed by Shaiful Batong (143) and Mohd Faizal Tahir (143), while the top three winners in the women’s category were NurAllyssa Sofea Razali (137), Putri Haryaty Najwa Harezam (145) and Chan Koh Yan (147).
