Ant McPartlin has opened up on a “tough” family loss as the star reveals that he has “cried a lot”.

Speaking on his podcast Hanging Out With Ant and Dec, the presenter discussed the loss of his dog Hurley earlier this month.

The 50-year-old and his ex-wife Lisa Armstrong decided to put down the Labrador after he became terminally ill.

Thanking fans for their support, he said that the 12-year-old dog was surrounded by loved ones at the vet’s. “It was a very sad, but it was a very lovely moment when we all got to say goodbye to him.”

“I’ve cried a lot. I’ve cried… for anyone that’s lost a pet that is beloved to them, then my heart goes out to you and I know how you feel because it’s tough.”
