Anthony Edwards details body transformation before playoffs
Speaking in comments shared via Dane Moore, Edwards outlined the changes he has made to his conditioning.
“Working on my body, getting back in shape, getting my body fat down. I haven’t been 218 since I was in college, since I was 18, so I’m 218.
“I’ve got down in my weight. And I think the main thing is just getting in shape, trying to get back into game shape,” Edwards said.
He added, “I haven’t played a lot in the last month so trying to get back into shape… middle of the season I probably was like 226.”
The shift is notable, particularly the drop from his midseason weight, pointing to a deliberate effort to improve mobility and endurance.
Anthony Edwards labels Denver Nuggets matchup as a rivalry
As he prepares for the playoff battle against Denver, Edwards made it clear how he views the matchup. Speaking via Dane Moore, he framed the series in direct terms.
“I don’t think there’s anything else to call it but a rivalry… I think there’s a lot of rivalries in the league now. And I think me and Denver is one of them,” Edwards stated.
The comment reflects the recent competitive history between the two teams, with multiple high-stakes matchups adding intensity to the pairing.
For Edwards, the physical transformation now aligns with a clear target, delivering at a higher level against a familiar opponent.
With conditioning addressed and motivation clear, Edwards heads into the series positioning himself for a defining postseason stretch.
