Young star or seasoned champion? The second half of the 2026 Formula 1 season is about to get seriously exciting!
The Hungarian Grand Prix has come and gone, and the first half of the 2026 F1 season is officially in the books. With 11 races still remaining, the championship battle is far from over. In fact, it could be one of the most exciting title fights in recent years. ππ
And right now, the name at the top of everyone's lips is Kimi Antonelli.
The young Italian has been absolutely flying this season. After 11 rounds, the Mercedes driver leads the Drivers' Championship with 219 points, a 50-point advantage over seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton, who sits second on 169 points. Mercedes team-mate George Russell is third with 160 points.

The Hungarian Grand Prix may have been won by Lando Norris, but Antonelli still walked away as one of the biggest winners of the weekend. Starting seventh after a grid penalty, he fought his way back to the podium and extended his championship lead.
It certainly feels like the young generation is taking over Formula 1.
But can Antonelli really go all the way and become World Champion?

Mercedes is certainly looking strong. The Silver Arrows currently lead the Constructors' Championship with 379 points, showing just how competitive their 2026 package has been. With Antonelli leading the Drivers' standings and Russell also fighting near the front, Mercedes has plenty of reasons to dream about a double championship triumph.
But then again, this is Formula 1. https://www.formula1.com/
Never count out Lewis Hamilton.
The seven-time World Champion may be 50 points behind Antonelli, but there are still 11 races to go. Hamilton has the experience, the speed and the ability to perform under pressure. Could the Ferrari star produce a stunning second-half comeback and chase down the young Mercedes sensation?
And what about Lando Norris?
The reigning World Champion finally got his 2026 season back on track with a brilliant victory in Hungary β his first win of the season and McLaren's first victory of 2026. After a difficult first half, Norris has now reminded everyone why he is the defending champion.
Could this victory be the turning point? Can Norris close the gap and successfully defend his World Championship?

Then comes the biggest surprise for Malaysian F1 fans.
Formula 1 is coming back to Sepang! π²πΎπ₯ https://www.sepangcircuit.com/home
From 2β4 October 2026, the Sepang International Circuit will host the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, allowing the Bahrain Grand Prix to be held in Malaysia. The event is subject to final agreements and official sign-off, including approval from the World Motor Sport Council.

So, who will rule the second half of 2026?
ποΈ Will Antonelli continue his incredible rise?
