Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim urges security personnel and spouses to vote for PH in Negeri Sembilan early voting.

SEREMBAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) personnel, as well as their spouses, who will cast their ballots in early voting for the 16th Negeri Sembilan State Election on Tuesday to place their trust in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate.

In a video posted on Facebook today, the PH chairman said he, together with the Cabinet Ministers, had made every effort to safeguard the welfare of ATM and PDRM personnel, but believed there was still room for improvement.

“This includes the welfare of military and police personnel in terms of their salaries, basic facilities, housing, educational facilities for their children and healthcare for their parents, as well as (assistance under) Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) and Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA).

“Give us the opportunity to continue serving. With our appreciation for your service and sacrifices, let us work together, serve and strive to elevate the dignity of our beloved Malaysia while supporting PH,” he said.

In the same post, Anwar said every vote cast would not only determine the state’s direction, but also reflect the trust placed in the government to continue strengthening the welfare of security personnel and their families.

“However, with continued support and the mandate, Insya-Allah, we will continue to work harder to elevate the dignity of the country, safeguard the welfare of the people and strengthen the well-being of all members of the security forces.

“To Allah SWT we surrender,” he said.

This Tuesday, a total of 16,884 military personnel and their spouses, as well as 5,455 police personnel, will exercise their right to vote at 38 early voting centres throughout the state.

The Election Commission has set Aug 1 as the polling day for the 16th Negri Sembilan election.
