PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on members of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) who will participate in early voting to continue supporting Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidates.
Addressing personnel from the country’s security forces, Anwar said every vote carried significance beyond determining the political direction of the state, describing it as a trust that must be honoured through continued efforts to improve the welfare of security personnel and their families.
“Every vote cast is not merely a decision on the future direction of the state, but a mandate that we must honour by continuing to strengthen the welfare of our security personnel and their families,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Anwar said he remained aware that more needed to be done and stressed that he had never regarded the government’s achievements so far as adequate.
He said continued support and a renewed mandate would enable the government to work harder towards upholding the nation’s dignity, safeguarding the people’s welfare and improving the well-being of members of the security forces.
“However, with your continued support and mandate, God willing, we will work even harder to uphold the dignity of our nation, safeguard the welfare of the people, and enhance the well-being of all members of our security forces,” he said.
Early voting for the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election takes place on Tuesday (July 28, 2026) starting at 8am. The process involves 22,339 early voters, including 16,884 military personnel with their spouses and 5,455 police officers. General polling day follows on August 1, 2026. - July 26, 2026
