Anwar chairs MA63 council meeting in Sabah to review implementation progress

PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will chair the 2026 Malaysia Agreement 1963 Implementation Action Council (MTPMA63) meeting in Kota Kinabalu, bringing together federal and state leaders to review progress in fulfilling commitments under the agreement.

Anwar arrived at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) at 8.16am with Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, with the two sharing a vehicle to the venue.

The meeting was attended by Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang and Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs) Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, among other federal and state leaders.

The council serves as a key platform for monitoring the implementation of MA63 and discussing outstanding matters affecting Sabah and Sarawak.

The meeting is being held as part of Anwar's two-day official visit to Sabah, which includes several programmes across the state. - September 11, 2026
