Anwar says Melaka deserves integrity-driven leadership ahead of state polls

PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called for a leadership focused on integrity, accountability and public welfare in Melaka ahead of the Nov 14 state election.

Anwar, who is also Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman, said the state deserved leaders who were trustworthy, principled and committed to working for the people.

He expressed confidence that voters would choose PH candidates to bring meaningful improvements to the state.

“Melaka deserves leadership that is trustworthy, principled and hardworking, dedicated to the people and their well-being.

“I am confident the people of Melaka will choose HARAPAN candidates who will work for the good of the people and bring meaningful change to the state. Melaka is our home!” he said in a Facebook post.

PH is contesting 24 of the 28 state assembly seats, with PKR fielding 10 candidates, while DAP and Amanah are each contesting seven.

The Election Commission has set Nov 14 as polling day, with early voting scheduled for Nov 10. - November 1, 2026
