Apple has announced two major additions to its smartwatch lineup for Malaysia: Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. Apple Watch Series 12 starts at RM1,799, while the more rugged Apple Watch Ultra 4 starts at RM3,699. Both will be available in Malaysia from September 18.
Apple Watch Series 12 puts health sensing front and centre
Apple Watch Series 12 introduces Apple’s new Health Sensing System, positioning health monitoring as the centrepiece of this generation. The watch continues Apple’s established heart-rate, ECG, sleep and safety features while expanding the hardware and software platform for more health insights through watchOS 27.
Apple is also strengthening durability on the aluminium Series 12, with Ceramic Shield 2 that the company says is 60% tougher than the Ion-X glass used on Apple Watch Series 11.
There is an important Malaysia-specific caveat: Apple’s Hypertension Notifications will not initially be available locally on Apple Watch Series 12 or Apple Watch Ultra 4 because regulatory clearance is still in progress. Apple currently expects Malaysian availability next year.
Apple Watch Ultra 4 remains the flagship for adventure
Apple Watch Ultra 4 continues as Apple’s premium rugged smartwatch, aimed at users who want a tougher device for outdoor activities, endurance sports and demanding environments. It sits above Series 12 at RM3,699 and will run watchOS 27 alongside Apple’s latest health, fitness and safety features.
watchOS 27 will also be released as a free update on September 14 for Apple Watch Series 9 or later, Apple Watch SE 3 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 or later. It requires an iPhone 11 or later, or a second-generation iPhone SE or newer, running iOS 27.
Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 Malaysia pricing
Apple Watch Series 12 starts at RM1,799 in Malaysia, while Apple Watch Ultra 4 starts at RM3,699. Customers can pre-order Series 12 ahead of general in-store availability on Friday, September 18, with new Apple Watch bands also arriving on the same date.
New subscribers purchasing Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch SE 3 or Apple Watch Ultra 4 may also qualify for three months of Apple Fitness+ and Apple Music, subject to Apple’s promotional terms and regional availability.
For Malaysian buyers, Series 12 looks like the mainstream choice while Ultra 4 remains the specialised option for users who genuinely need its rugged design. The missing Hypertension Notifications at launch is worth keeping in mind, although Apple says local regulatory clearance is expected next year.
