Cristian Romero snubbed a handshake from Donald Trump during the presentation of runners-up medals at the World Cup 2026 final.
On Sunday (19 July), Spain clinched a 1-0 win against reigning champions Argentina following Ferran Torres' extra-time strike.
As the Argentina players were presented with their silver medals by the US president and Fifa’s Gianni Infantino, the defender refused to acknowledge Mr Trump, instead walking right past him.
He did shake hands with Mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum and Canadian prime minister Mark Carney, who were part of the trophy delegation, as well as shaking Infantino’s hand.
