BERLIN - United States (US) pop icon Ariana Grande reached the top of the German charts for the first time on Friday with her new album petal.
With her eighth studio album, the 33-year-old singer is celebrating her first-ever number-one spot in the country, according to GfK Entertainment, which compiles the chart.
Grande released petal last week, featuring songs such as hate that i made you love me.
Shortly afterward, it was reported that she plans to step back from the public eye for an unspecified time after her tour.
Grande's management told the US magazine People that she would be taking a break after months of "endless, ongoing public scrutiny.”
This reignited a debate about Grande's health that has been ongoing for years.
The performer is currently on tour promoting her 2024 album Eternal Sunshine.
Eternal Sunshine re-entered the German Top 100 album charts at No. 53, alongside Grande's 2016 album Dangerous Woman, which ranked No. 30.
The No.1 spot in the German singles charts remains unchanged. The World Cup song Dai Dai by Shakira and Burna Boy remains at the top for the sixth week in a row. - BERNAMA
