Armando Broja has flown to the US to join Chelsea's preseason tour.
Broja was left out of the initial 29-man party that left the UK for Los Angeles on Saturday.
But he has now travelled to the States alongside Raheem Sterling whose move to Chelsea from Manchester City in a deal worth up to £50m is set to be confirmed.
A raft of clubs across Europe are chasing Broja's signature.
But the delay in his departure is thought to have been due to a paperwork issue rather than uncertainty over his future, says the Daily Mail.
