KOTA KINABALU: GRS Deputy Secretary-General Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali accused Warisan of misleading the public by claiming it completed 17 out of 21 Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) demands during its 2018–2020 administration.
Armizan, who oversaw the MA63 secretariat under the Prime Minister’s Department, said Warisan President Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal’s claims were “misleading and unsupported by facts.”Armizan explained that discussing an issue does not equate to completing it, noting that formal decisions, Cabinet approval, and official implementation are required for MA63 items to be considered resolved.
He challenged Warisan to list the 15 remaining items it claimed were completed.
He highlighted two Warisan claims as inaccurate: the failed 2019 constitutional amendment restoring Sabah and Sarawak’s equal status, and the handover of deep-sea fishing licence authority, which was only implemented in 2021 under the GRS-led state government.
Armizan contrasted this with achievements during his tenure from December 2022 to December 2023, including formal approval and implementation of powers and guidelines related to state technical departments, gas and electricity regulation, LHDN board representation, and returning federally reserved land.
He urged voters to “save Sabah from Warisan’s fiction” and support GRS in the upcoming election.
