Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on youngster Charles Sagoe Jr.
The teenager received a chance to play in the Gunners' Carabao Cup third round win against Brentford on Wednesday.
Many fans were shocked to see Sagoe Jr's name in the starting lineup ahead of the game.
Post-match, Arteta told reporters: Well the context with the injuries helped the possibility. When we have the chance we have to look to the academy and give opportunities.
Charles is one of the most consistent players that we had in the Under-23s for a few months.
He's been training with us quite a lot. We have to give opportunities to people. If we don't do it today when are we going to do give opportunities to our youngsters? I'm really happy that he had a good experience."
