Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was delighted with his gong at the 'Globesoccer Awards' in Sardinia.

Arteta was named Premier League Manager of the Year.

He said: "I am extremely proud because when I decided to stop my career as a player I thought that the joys of football would vanish.

"Once my coaching career began I have experienced better ones. I feel a great passion for what I do and I have to thank all the players and staff who support me on this path that I hope they will lead us to at the top and winning a trophy."

On what to expect from Arsenal next season, Arteta said: "Victories, victories and victories. We have a team full of enthusiasm and we want to win trophies. We know that we want to do it, that the competition is strong but we will do our best."
