Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta admits he told his players there were lessons to learn from Sunday's 2-2 draw at Liverpool.

The Gunners blew a 2-0 lead to eventually settle for the draw.

Arteta revealed what he later said to his players: It's crystal clear - the lesson is play the way we played from the beginning. Regardless of the context and the result, we have to continue to do that way. Don't go speculating about doing something different. This is our strength, it's why we've won so many games, and this is how we're going to win many more games from here to the end of the season."

The draw means Arsenal are now six points ahead of Manchester City, though Pep Guardiola's men have a game in hand.

It's always tough when you drop two points in the last five, six minutes," Arteta said. It's always difficult to take. But I said 'let's be fair guys, let's be fair that what we did in the first half was exceptional and the second half could have cost us the game'. But we have to be realistic with that to try to play more like we did in the first half, and that's it."
