Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard admits they're using their title collapse as motivation for the new season.
The Gunners were eight points clear at one stage in the second-half of the season before they were overrun by Manchester City.
Odegaard, ahead of Arsenal's clash with the MLS Allstars, admits: We have to learn from last time and use the anger, the disappointment and the bad feelings to come back even stronger
This time last year I don't think there were too many people who believed that we were going to be fighting for the title but we were so close and it's still painful for us.
We had this big dream to win something special and it's important to come back even stronger, hungrier and more motivated.
That's what we did last year after we missed Champions League qualification the season before. We're trying to do the same again."
Odegaard also says the spending spree which has brought in Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber increases expectations.
The midfielder said: With the signings we've made coming on top of what we did last year, expectations are naturally going to go up.
We have to be ready for that extra pressure and deal with it and that's what we're going to do.
I think we've made some great signings, great characters who bring good quality and good energy, so it's important to make sure they settle in as quickly as possible.
Every time I've played against Declan Rice I've seen his quality. We had some tough battles so I'm happy to have him on my side and hopefully we can find a good connection very quickly.
He's a leader as well so it's great for me to work together and hopefully we can help each other a lot."
