Youngster Gabriel Martinelli's opening goal for Arsenal against Liverpool in the Premier League was awarded as the result of a VAR loophole.

Per the Daily Mail, Martinelli's opening minute strike, which involved a question about Bukayo Saka being offside in the buildup, was ruled legal by the officials.

The Gunners went on to win the game 3-2, with Martinelli also adding an assist to his contribution later in the match.

It appears that at the precise moment when the referees wanted to see if Bukayo Saka was offside, none of the requisite cameras had a good angle of him.

There were cameras where Saka was viewable, but those were not properly synced for calling offside decisions.

As a result, the officials stuck with the onfield decision, which was that no offside had taken place.
