Arsenal have put in another bid to Ajax for Argentine defender Lisandro Martinez.
The Gunners are determined to jump ahead of Manchester United in the queue to secure the defender's signature.
Martinez can play at centre-back, while he is also comfortable as a left-back and defensive midfielder.
Their second bid was a total package of £34 million, which was turned down.
United, managed by Martinez's old Ajax boss Erik ten Hag, have yet to put in a formal offer.
