- England international midfielder Georgia Stanway has completed a permanent move to Women’s Super League club Arsenal, following four successful years with German side Bayern Munich.
- During her tenure at Bayern Munich, the 27-year-old made 128 appearances and secured eight trophies, adding to her earlier success at Manchester City where she won a WSL title, three FA Cups, and three League Cups over seven seasons.
- Stanway, who has earned 93 caps for England and was part of the Lionesses' European Championship-winning squads in 2022 and 2025, expressed her pride in joining Arsenal, stating her ambition to win trophies and grow as a player at the club.
- Arsenal manager Renee Slegers praised Stanway as a “brilliant midfielder” who will bring a new dimension, experience, and a winning mentality to the team, while Director of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley highlighted her as one of the world's best with strong leadership qualities.
- The signing comes as Arsenal aims to build on a season where they finished second in the WSL, four points behind Manchester City, and reached the semi-finals of the Women’s Champions League.
