Arsenal intend to step up their plans for Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez this week.
Arsenal have identified Martinez as one of their top transfer targets as Mikel Arteta plots a summer recruitment drive at Emirates Stadium.
The 24-year-old, who is valued at around £30million, would provide competition for centre-back pair Ben White and Gabriel.
The Gunners opened talks with Ajax last week for the Argentine.
And the Evening Standard says they will push for Martinez as soon as a deal for Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira is closed.
